How Much Does It Cost?
I try to keep the cost for this really affordable, I only ask for a one-time payment of $45. Of course that cost will probably increase the more I develop and add to the course. So now is a GREAT time to join. Once you're in, you're in for life!
How Often Do I Pay?
Right now, the Jump Into Spanish program is set up so that you only have to pay ONCE. The $45 fee is all you will pay to gain access to the materials for as long as you wish. That IS subject to change, however, so like I mentioned above, right now is a really good time to JUMP IN. ;)
What Does It Include?
Each term is 12 weeks. I have designed almost three terms so far (right now we're at the end of term 3A). I have three more terms in the works, and then we will cycle back around to the first term. So you're getting materials/lesson plans for six total terms, which ends up being about two years worth of material. And of course you can cycle back through the material countless times until your family feels they have learned all the material. For example, I have a 3- and 5-year old that have just started with Term 3A. In 2019 we'll do Terms 1B, 2B, 3B. In 2020 we'll go back through 1A, 2A, 3A. Which means it will have been two years since they practiced the material from 3A, so it will feel fresh to them but they'll be learning the material even better since they will have been exposed to it before!
What Ages Is It For?
My kids are ages 3, 5, 7, and almost 9. The lessons I plan are geared for them. All of the materials are adaptable depending on ages and learning styles. There's plenty of material to pick and choose what works best for your family.
What's the Style of This Program?
I designed the Jump Into Spanish materials based on the Charlotte Mason approach I read about on Ambleside Online and heard about from A Delectable Education podcast & consultation services. When we homeschooled this was the style that resonated with us best. It focuses on learning language in action phrases, learning a few new words each day, learning folk songs & poetry, narrating, recitation, & copywork. The lessons are designed to take about 15-20 minutes each day.
What Will We Learn?
Each term the goal is to learn 300 new words, learn simple Spanish phrases (from the booklets or action phrases), learn how to re-tell a folktale in simple Spanish, memorize a few Spanish poems with actions, & learn one or two Spanish folk songs. We also do culture studies on several countries within each term. For example this term we are learning about Mexico, Guatemala, and Spain. The hope is that this program will help you to make learning a foreign language a part of your lifestyle.
