My sister-in-law ready to take pictures of the big reveal! Boy?! Girl?! |
Our family has some exciting news!! We are expecting a baby! Last Thursday we went to the hospital for a sonogram (la ecografía) to check on the baby’s growth and find out the gender (el sexo). All of my cousins have boys, my husband’s brother has three boys, my husband has three boys, so I figured it was a boy…but statistically it seemed like a girl was in order.
Once we found out the gender I wanted to use an idea I had seen on Blog Me Mom to reveal the gender to the boys. After our appointment, I went to Wal-Mart and found some water guns that were not see-thru. Being solid colors, they would hide the color of the paint inside. Next we went to Hobby Lobby to buy some paint. I was hoping for powdered tempera–that is what the activity above suggested for the brightest, least clogging option; however, our store no longer carries it so we bought regular tempera.
We went to pick up El Mayorcito, then went to my parents’ house where the little boys were. My sister-in-law, who was there to take pictures, helped me mix the paint with water and fill the guns while my sister gave the boys white t-shirts to wear. Hubby was in the room with the boys taking a poll: they all guessed girl (niña).
Paint mixed, guns loaded, we headed outside for a paint fight! Here are the results!!!!
