Jump Into Spanish Weekly!
Every week I send out an email to my Jump Into Spanish group. It includes links to allll the materials for the term, and also specific plans for each day of the coming week. The materials include a vocabulary sheet with 5-6 new words to learn daily Monday through Friday. It looks like this:
I make an audio guide for each day that you can listen to (it’s about two minutes long) that helps you learn how to pronounce the words.
In addition to the new words we learn each day, we also follow this schedule:
MONDAY: Vocab +Â Booklet – I make a little booklet you print out each week…kids add the illustrations or sometimes just color in the illustrations. (Example pictured here.)
TUESDAY: Vocab + Spanish poetry – The kids actually memorize a few Spanish poems each term!
WEDNESDAY: Vocab + Game – Just any little game you choose to make the learning fun…I make suggestions in the weekly emails.
THURSDAY: Vocab + Folk Tales – Learn Spanish with classic folk tales in Spanish. This coming term we’re working through La gallinita roja  (The Little Red Hen)
FRIDAY: Vocab + Folk Song – Work on memorizing a few Spanish folk songs each term.
We have a free Facebook group for all the members too, where we share booklists, YouTube videos, reminders, questions, etc. to help each other out!
Â
Basically, this is me sharing my personal lesson plans that I use with my own kids (ages 5-11), so you don’t have to do all the work! And my hope is to be a cheerleader for you, because I know how hard it can be to stick with the goal of helping your kids to learn a second language!
How Do I Join?
Sound like something you want in on? Just click the button below to JUMP IN! Once your payment goes through, I’ll be in touch about how to get all the materials for the term + this coming week. I will contact you via your PayPal email, so please let me know if that is not the email you currently use. You can email me with questions: fortheloveofspanish at gmail dot com.
How Much Does It Cost?
I try to keep the cost affordable; I only ask for a one-time payment of $298. Once you’re in, you’re in for life! Memberships usually charge around $25 per month. If you joined at that price long enough to make it through all the material you would have paid $600. So the low-cost price of $298 saves you over $300!Â
How Often Do I Pay?
Right now, the Jump Into Spanish program is set up so that you only have to pay ONCE. The $298 membership fee is all you will pay to gain access to the materials for as long as you wish. That IS subject to change, however, so right now is a really good time to JUMP IN.Â
What Does It Include?
Each term is 12 weeks. I have designed six terms so far: Term 1A, 2A, 3A, & Term 1B, 2B, 3B. Right now we just started Term 3B, and then we will cycle back around to the YEAR A terms in 2022. You’ll get materials & lesson plans for six total terms, which ends up being about two years worth of material. And of course you can cycle back through the material countless times until your family feels they have learned all the material. For example, this fall will be our second time going through Term 3B, but my kids were different ages and abilities. Some of the material will be new to my younger kiddos, and the material will feel fresh to my older kiddos who already went through it two years ago!Â
What Ages Is It For?
When I began Jump Into Spanish, my kids were around the ages of 3 – 9, and I was designing the materials for them. All of the materials are adaptable depending on ages and learning styles, but I would say this program is perfect for ages 5-10. There’s plenty of material to pick and choose from for what works best in your family.
Style of The Program
I designed the Jump Into Spanish materials based on the Charlotte Mason approach I read about on Ambleside Online and heard about from A Delectable Education podcast & consultation services. When we began homeschooling this was the style that resonated with us best. It focuses on learning language in action phrases, learning a few new words each day, learning folk songs & poetry, narration, recitation, & copywork. The lessons are designed to take about 15-20 minutes each day.
What Will We Learn?
Each term the goal is to learn 300 new words, learn simple Spanish phrases (from the booklets or action phrases), learn how to re-tell a folktale in simple Spanish, memorize a few Spanish poems with actions, & learn one or two Spanish folk songs. We also do culture studies on several countries within each term. This coming term we will learn about the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and El Salvador. My hope is that this program will help you make learning a foreign language a part of your family’s lifestyle.
I can’t wait to have you join us and jump into learning Spanish with us!!! Remember you can email me with any questions: fortheloveofspanish at gmail dot com.
Un abrazo from my family to yours! -Kali
