It’s a Spanish Insta-Friday // Super-Semana en español

Lo pasamos muy tranquilamente el sábado pasado.  Mi esposito tenía que estudiar, entonces yo y los hijos fuimos al parque—nuestro favorite—para pasar la mañana.  Nadie estaba allí, entonces era muy tranquilo y silencioso.  Este parque tiene un área de arena, lo favorite de mis hijos, y ellos jugaban allí y yo leí mi libro  Una mañana perfecta si me estás preguntando.  Al esa noche fuimos a otro parque para la fiesta de cumpleaños para los lindos gémelos en nuestra vida—los primos de mis hijos.  Cumplieron 3.  No me lo puedo creer…qué rápdio pasa el tiempo.  En la fiesta fue puros niños y le encantaba al Jefe correr y “batir” y explorar con todos ellos. //  Last Saturday was very relaxing.  My hubby had to study, so the boys and I went to the park–our favorite–to spend the morning.  Nobody was there, so it was very peaceful and quiet.  That park has a sand area, my boys’ favorite, and they played there while I read my book.  A perfect morning if you ask me.  That night we went to another park for the birthday party of the sweet twins in our life–my boys’ cousins.  They turned 3.  I can’t believe it…the time passes so quickly.  At the party it was just tons of boys and Jefe loved it: running and “fighting” and exploring with them all.  

El martes estaba reflexionando sobre la idea de la felicidad después de leer el artículo “The Pursuit of Happiness” en la revita TIME.  El artículo mencionó que los estadounidenses no son los más felices del mundo, pero que aquí en este país la siempre buscamos la felicidad.  Gracias a Dios, sobre todo estoy una persona contenta.  No necesito mucho para ser feliz, sólo mi familia y la salud.  Puedo descubrir alegría en las cosas pequeñas de la vida—como si fuera niña.  Creo que eso es la razón que tanto me encanta ser madre, porque me gusta estar con niños y ver el mundo dentro de sus lentes.  //  Tuesday I was contemplating the idea of happiness after reading the article “The Pursuit of Happiness” in TIME magazine.  The article mentioned that people from the USA are not the happiest in the world, but that in this country we are wired to be in pursuit of it.  Thank God (literally), for the most part I am a content person.  I do not need much to be happy, just my family and health.  I can find joy in the little things in life–as if I were a little girl.  I think that is why I love being a mom so much, because I love to be around kids and see the world through their perspective.  

Pueden ver de las fotos que hemos pasado mucho tiempo en los parques esta semana.  Especialmente los con arena.  J  También hemos disfrutado mucho los productos agrícolas.  Ahora en nuestra región, los arándanos—las bayas en general—y los duraznos están en la temporada perfecta.  Me encanta la parte del año cuando se come la fruta y sienta como se ha arrancado directamente del árbol.  //  As you can see from the pictures, we spent a lot of time at parks this week.  Especially those with sand.  🙂  We have also enjoyed a lot of fresh produce.  Right now where we live, the blueberries–berries in general–and the peaches are the perfect season.  I love that part of the year when you eat fruit and it tastes like you just plucked it right from the tree.  

Terminamos la semana con dos otros cumpleaños—el de mi hermaninto que ya tiene veintiún años y de mi querida mamá.  Los celebramos ayer en la casa de mis padres con comida de la parilla—muy americano, ¿no?—y una torta.  Me encanta pasar el tiempo con mi familia y verlos todos juntos.  Mi hermano más menor ahora tiene catorce años (todovía pienso en el como bebé); un hermano últimamente se ha estado comprometido; otro hermano empezó a salir con una chica, y el otro hermano, que se casó hace unos meses, ¡va a comprar una casa!  No puedo creer como nuestra familia ya ha crecido.  //  We ended the week with two more birthdays–that of my brother that now is twenty-one year old and my dearest mother.  We celebrated them at my parents’ house yesterday with food on the grill–very American, right?–and a cake.  I love spending time with my family and seeing them all together.  My youngest brother is now fourteen-year-old (I still think of him as the baby); one brother recently got engaged; another brother just started dating seriously, and the other brother that has been married a few month is going to buy a house!  I cannot believe how much our family has grown up.
