Spanish Fresco Ruined

by | Oct 4, 2012 | Uncategorized

Heard about this story from Spain today…it happened a while ago, but it was too interesting not to share.  Apparently Cecilia Jimenez, a local woman from Borja, Spain, decided to take on the restoration of a church fresco by herself without any training or experience.  By the looks of this picture, I do not think it turned out too well….although it is reminiscent of another famous Spanish painter, Picasso.  The story received so much attention that the “botched” fresco actually brought an influx of tourism to the town.  I feel really bad for the woman–I am sure her intentions were good.  What do you think?  Do you like the new take on Ecce Homo?
